Week 1

Hello, welcome to my first entry.

For our first lesson we were tasked to recreate a letting we did last semester. This entry will therefore be about using fusion 360 to create my keyring.

I started it by creating a rectangle 25mm X 65mm on a new project. I then used the offset feature 2mm.

Next I fillet the corners by 5mm and created a circle with a diameter of 5mm

I then inserted a random word that came to me. I then extrude the corners and text by 3.5mm.
I also extrude the base by 2mm. However I encountered a problem while extruding the text. The letter P could not be extruded.

It took me awhile figuring out but I fixed the text extruding by removing the text sketch and retyping in a different font.

I then added some colour to the text and the keychain. poop colour for the text:)

Home page

Hello readers, Welcome to Vernon's blog.

My name is Vernon Siew and I am from class DCHE/FT/2B/02 studying in SP. I Luv dogs and I think many of them love me too, I also like trying new things as I get bored really quickly. I have started this blog to document my journey through this module called Chemical product and design and development.

My main goal for this module is to

1) Acquire as much knowledge and experience about designing a product as possible. I can then use this to my own advantage when looking for stuff online, knowing what has been properly designed and what I should avoid. Also, i can create and experiment to see what works without having to rely on others.

2) I also want to score well for this module

How I am going to achieve

Firstly I will pay attention when going through the lesson material instead of skimming through it, I will also do my own research, mainly watching videos for fusion 360 and design & development in general.

I will also ask for help if encountering challenges that are new to us such as laser cutting or programming.

3) I will know whether I have reached my goal when

I can create and design a prototype from scratch without relying on anyone else.

Here are some ground rules my group ‘team innovation’ have set

1. Be punctual for all group calls, lessons and practical

2. Be responsible for your own work

3. Do your part
